Welcome to Day 10 of the Wellbeing 9-a-Day blog! Whether it has taken you 10 days or 10 weeks to get to this stage, well done! We must all take the journey to improved wellbeing at our own pace, and you deserve credit for sticking to the path for this long. In today’s blog, I am going to give you some advice on how to fill in your Day 10 Review.
Looking Back
The Wellbeing 9-a-Day Journal is designed to guide you through your journey towards transformed wellbeing. Think of it as your mentor on the path to a healthier, happier version of yourself. As with any good mentor, the journal encourages you to reflect on your journey and use what you have learned to create a better path for moving forward.
Every 10 days, you will get the chance to review what has come before. You will also have the opportunity for more detailed reviews at each 30-day interval. Today is your first chance to consider your progress so far, so take the opportunity to reflect on each of the Wellbeing 9-a-Day in turn.
It is important to remember that this is not about shining a light on successes or failures. In fact, you should not view any misses as failures – they are lessons that will serve you as you move into the next stage of your transformation.
These lessons are invaluable in helping you overcoming your barriers, and they should be viewed positively, like any habit that you have achieved every day
Looking forward
After looking back on your first 10 days, it is now time to look forward to the next 10. The lessons that you have learned so far will serve you well as you continue your path, helping you to tweak your targets so that you can set up each day for success.
It may be that you do not need to make any tweaks at this stage, but there is every chance that your intentions for one or more of the Wellbeing 9-a-Day will benefit from being adjusted. The video below gives more details on the key principles that will help you get the most out of the journal.
Do you have any habits that you have hit every day? If you do, now might be the time to increase them. Let’s say your Nourishing goal was to eat two portions of Nature’s Candy per day, and you’ve hit it every day. Is now the right time to increase your goal to three portions?
There may be other habits that you have not been able to do. Using the same example, if you’ve not been able to hit your Nourishing goal of eating two portions of Nature’s Candy on any of the days, it might be better to reduce your goal to 1 portion, so that you can start building the daily habit.
Remember, the aim of the journal is to build habits that we can and will achieve. Sometimes in life we have to take one step back (or sideways) before we can take two steps forward. The value of building a lifelong habit far outweighs any unsustainable short-term goal.
Call to Action!
Now that you have finished 10 days with The Wellbeing 9-a-Day Journal, you get to look back on your first 10 days and look forward to the next 10. This is a great opportunity to assess your progress and make changes to your goals where necessary. Well done for committing to improving your health and wellbeing!
